Just in time for Mother's Day and the New Depression — in many cases, same difference — Dave Isay presents and signs Mom: A Celebration of Mothers from the StoryCorps Project. The StoryCorps Project, in case you thought there was no new tale to tell, was founded by Isay in 2003 in Brooklyn as an oral-history engine collecting the hitherto untold life stories of more than 50,000 Americans from sea to shining-with-mercury sea. They're archived at the Library of Congress for future generations and the alien overlords who you'll welcome by showing this compilation of experiences of mothers from more walks of life than you can shake a walking stick at. And just when you thought you'd finally lived down that story about how you threw up all over yourself and Santa, Mom's already told StoryCorps — gee, thanks, Mom!
