The très chic Euro dance rock scene has many stars (Justice, Uffie), but the man behind the neo-raver rage might be lesser known to some. His name is Pedro Winter, a.k.a. Busy P, and his label, Ed Banger Records, is the hub of hip in France. Busy P will be gettin’ busy this Friday night, and it’s a safe bet this one’s gonna be off the (ironic Mr. T) chain. Avalon, 1735 Vine St., Hlywd; Fri., July 25. More hypnotic yet hard-hitting beat boys: the U.K.’s Does It Offend You Yeah? play the Echo, Sat., July 26, but if you miss that, we recommend catching the duo’s scheduled DJ sets this weekend. Later the same night, they’ll be spinning at Club Giant at Vanguard along with Lazaro Casanova; the following day, they’ll serve up splashy grooves by the pool at Modular Records’ Summer Bash. Standard Downtown, 550 S. Flower St.; Sun., July 27. See myspace.com/modularusa for info. Those who do get to see DIOYY play (and don’t want to deal with going into Hollywood later or UV rays the next day) should head downstairs to the Echoplex after the show, where the monthly mayhem of Club Suicide features Suicide Girls on the podiums, spanking beats on the decks and possible pop-ins from some of the Echo bands (the Black Ghosts, etc.) after their sets.
