Someone contacted officials with a bomb threat on the mayor's office, prompting tighter security in City Hall Tuesday, a mayoral spokeswoman said. The threat comes as police patrols of area film studios has also been beefed up in the wake of the weekend's failed car-bomb attempt in New York's Times Square.

The threat was made Monday morning, but “no evidence of a bomb or any sort of destructive device was located, nor has evidence been found lending credibility to this threat,” said Sarah Hamilton, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa's spokeswoman.

Security was tightened, police are investigating, and even Hamilton had her bag searched today as she went to work, she said.
