The tea service at the Huntington Library, Art Collections and Botanical Gardens in San Marino has always beat out all others because of one key factor: an all-you-can-eat buffet. However, they've really stepped up their game recently, with the addition of several new salads to the classic finger sandwiches (seven varieties) and pastries (10 varieties, plus scones). There's also a selection of cheeses, caviar, olive tapenade and hummus (?!), as well as fresh fruit. Skip the caviar (it's more for show) and stick with the scones, the sandwiches (we like the classic cucumber and the smoked salmon with fresh dill), the salads and the desserts. You can return to the buffet as many times as you want, and you also get a bottomless pot of tea. Any leftover scones in the basket on your table will be wrapped up for you to take home. And where else can you get tea made with the addition of petals from the rose garden outside? (Reservations are required.) —Samantha Bonar
