In yesterday's story about MOCA's survey of the work of Doug Aitken, we explained the complication involved in locating his larger-than-life video installations inside a museum:

Often too big, too site-specific or too ephemeral to exist inside traditional museum spaces, Aitken’s art has been displayed on the exterior of the Museum of Modern Art in New York City and on a barge off the coast of Greece. One of his more recent works — a sort of large-scale performance/light installation — escaped confinement by museum, city or even state as it raced across the continental United States on the side of a train.

Scaled down but still large in concept and scope, one of the installations in his show, “Electric Earth,” takes viewers from a stage to a factory to a parking lot where people sing different variations of The Flamingos' doo-wop classic “I Only Have Eyes for You.” Above is an exclusive first look.
