Another athlete has joined OnlyFans, and this time it’s an American trail runner. Sabrina Stanley is the first trail runner to be sponsored by the subscription-based platform. The two-time Hardrock 100 champion signed the groundbreaking deal recently, another move by the platform to try to become known for more than just adult content. OnlyFans has been adding other athletes, including Olympians and UFC fighters, to its platform, either by sponsorships like this or by the athletes choosing to create an account simply to raise funds for training.

The decision to partner or use a platform like OnlyFans has been seen as controversial by some, but as more athletes choose to, the shock factor continues to decline. After all, athletes have been actively growing personal brands beyond their sports personas for decades now.

As for Stanley’s decision, she said in the announcement: “I couldn’t be more excited to join the OnlyFans team of athletes and their diverse community of creators. This sponsorship allows me to share my journey in new and exciting ways while continuing to push my limits in the mountains.”

The Colorado-based runner continued: “Honestly, I’ve wanted to join OnlyFans for years. This sponsorship is about more than just racing—it lets me share my whole journey, ups and downs included, in ways I never could before.”

Stanley plans to reveal an intimate look at the life of an elite athlete, sharing workout tips, race preparation, and the highs and lows of training. Plus fans will also have the opportunity to interact with her directly, building a connection with fans and her community.

Stanley lives and trains in Silverton, Colorado, battling the 9,302 elevation as she trains. The elite runner has competed internationally in some of the most rigorous ultra-endurance mountain races. She has won the Hardrock 100 twice, finished in the top-ten two years in a row at the prestigious UTMB 100-mile World Series Finals, and won first-place at the Grand Raid La Réunion – Diagonale des Fous (170 kilometers).

She joins other OnlyFans sponsored athletes like French tennis player Alexandre Müller, Olympic bobsled champion Lisa Buckwitz, downhill mountain biker Stefan Garlicki and UFC fighter Charles Oliveira. Plus all the other athletes who joined the platform to connect with fans and make ends meet, like Canadian pole vaulter Alysha Newman, New Zealand rower Robbie Manson, and French tennis pro Chloe Paquet.

Paquet recently joined the platform as a creator, saying: “I really like the idea of OnlyFans to create a really good environment to connect the fans and the athletes. I want to show a little bit behind the scenes. Everybody watches tennis tournaments but they don’t know exactly what life is like behind, so I want to show a little bit of that for the fans. I think it’s a really good idea. I will post on here about my tennis life. I want to show the fans how I practice. I want to show what kind of fitness I do. I also want to show what I am before the match or after the match.”

The chance to make money doesn’t hurt, either.

British swimmer Jack Laugher joined OnlyFans before the Paris Olympics in 2024, trying to make ends meet while also training for the legendary Olympic games. And the money he made from his account helped him take home bronze. He called the platform, “ an absolute lifeline.”

While everyone has a different reason for joining, expect to see more athletes joining soon.
