This multi-genre band have spent the last year on the road fine tuning their unique, American heritage sound, as they continue to capture the attention of some of the biggest names in the industry, and they’re quickly gaining a reputation as a band to watch out for. Lead singer Patrick Ferris shared, “We want to keep getting closer to the things we’re creating, and keep getting better at it. We’d love it if more people could hear us. And, especially since the pandemic, some consistency would be nice.”

“Genius twenty-first-century musicians” was one title bestowed to The Americans by revered producer, T Bone Burnett, when he heard the band’s 11-song, sophomore studio LP, Stand True. Released by Loose Music on May 6, 2022, Stand True debuted at #25 on the Official Americana Albums Chart Top 40. The band’s debut album, I’ll Be Yours, was released in 2017 on Loose Music, peaking at #15 on the UK Americana-Top 40 and #19 on the Indie Breaker’s chart.

Composed of vocalist Patrick Ferris, Zac Sokolow (guitar), and Jake Faulkner (bass), The Americans have been making music together for over a decade. They had gotten their start in Los Angeles, where they quickly gained a following with their powerful, distinctive sound that blends elements of rock, folk, and country. As they’ve continued to fine tune their music, they’ve leaned into legacy acts and classic sounds to find their inspirations, sharing, “If you’re interested in making music, find the things you love and study them to death. All sorts of wisdom is hidden in the great works of the past.” With a passion for their craft and a commitment to delivering unforgettable experiences, The Americans quickly established themselves as a force to be reckoned with.

Their hard work and dedication to their craft have not gone unnoticed. Over the years, they’ve backed many big-name artists, including Nick Cave, Lucinda Williams, Ashley Monroe, and Devendra Banhart. They’ve also joined Ryan Bingham on national tours and worked closely with Jack White and T Bone Burnett on the PBS primetime series, American Epic, alongside Nas, Elton John, and Alabama Shakes.

But it’s not just their work as a backing band that has garnered them attention. The Americans also performed at some of the biggest music festivals in the country and won over audiences with their energetic and passionate stage presence. Additionally, they appeared on The Late Show (CBS), and their music was featured in the films Texas Killing Fields, A Country Called Home, Little Glory, and the TV series, No Tomorrow.

Their music has been praised for its authenticity and passion, and they’ve been hailed as one of the most promising bands in the American heritage music scene. With their unique blend of folk, country, and rock, they have built a devoted fan base that eagerly awaits their every move. The Americans satisfied fans with their unforgettable live performances and soulful, heartfelt songs in 2022, and they’re kicking it up a notch higher with subsequent performances.
