A colorful solo exhibition by  German painter Fabian Treiber opens at the  Anat Ebgi art gallery in Los Angeles on Saturday, Sept. 13.In his new exhibition, titled I Take The Whole Damn Place With Me, Treiber continues his surrealist exploration of landscapes and interiors that challenge our perception of reality.

His work consistently interrogates what we deem “correct” by shrinking skies, elongating landscapes, and warping the scale of household items, creating scenes that, as he says, “seem not quite right, but are just right.”

For this new body of work, he juxtaposes backdrops of an idyllic, animated America. drawn from classics like Looney Tunes, with interior scenes from his archive. The layering creates a palpable, uneasy dissonance, like the lingering warmth of a recently vacated train seat: a haunting sense of a story held in suspension.

LA-based painter Joshua Petker will open his third solo show with Anat Ebgi on the same date, debuting a new body of work.

Known for his vibrant, kaleidoscopic style, Petker layers anonymous art historical references with influences ranging from Picabia and Bronzino to Soviet cartoons- playfully challenging formal painting conventions and inviting viewers into dreamworlds where revelers, animals, and ghostly specters from multiple histories and locations intermingle.

In this show, the paintings evoke stills from surrealist films, with faces dissolving into abstraction. Brighter and more whimsical, these new works expand on Petker’s ongoing exploration of memory, beauty, and transformation.

To coincide with the opening in September, Petker is also releasing his first book, featuring an essay by renowned feminist curator, Kathy Battista, and exclusive imagery from his last four shows.

Bruce Lurie Gallery will present “Carpe Every Single Diem”, a new exhibition by Los Angeles-based artists Ruben Rojas and WRDSMTH, beginning on Saturday, August 9, and running through Tuesday, September 2.

The show marks one of the first major exhibitions since Bruce Lurie Gallery reopened after losing everything in the devastating Palisades fire. The reopening was made possible by support from the local community, including a fellow Palisades resident who offered the gallery its new space.

Bringing together two of the city’s prominent street artists, Carpe Every Single Diem combines Rojas’ “Love” imagery and vivid colors with WRDSMTH’s typewritten wisdom. This artistic union presents an immersive body of work that inspires connection and conversation.

“This show is about merging hearts and words,”  Rojas said in a press release.  “It’s a reminder that love isn’t passive—it’s something we choose, say, and show.”

Rojas left the corporate world in 2013 and has since transformed blank walls into uplifting murals.  WRDSMTH, known for his signature typewriter stencil and poetic phrases, aims to inspire passersby with daily doses of motivation painted and pasted onto walls around the world.

This exhibition marks the first time the two artists have shown together in a gallery setting. Carpe Every Single Diem will feature limited-edition prints, immersive installations, a selection of collaborative works, and curated individual pieces by each artist, offering viewers the opportunity to engage with the art more intimately.
