The Hollywood Palladium was the home to one of Southern rap’s most exciting figures on Sunday, June 29, as Memphis rap star Key Glock brought the GLOCKAVELI Tour to Sunset Blvd. Fresh off his 2025 BET Award nominations for Best Male Hip-Hop Artist and Video of the Year for “3am In ToKEyo,” Glock delivered a booming performance, showcasing why he’s become the go-to artist for hypnotic rap bangers. The show was part of a 20-city tour in support of his Glockaveli album that dropped May 2.
Taking the stage at 10 p.m. and performing for just under an hour, Glock wasted no time delivering his signature trunk-rattling anthems, including tracks from the new album like “No Sweat” and “3am In ToKEyo,” alongside fan favorites such as “Ambition For Cash” and “Russian Cream.” He kept the energy relentless through the concise setlist, making sure every moment hit.

Key Glock, born Markeyvius LaShun Cathey in 1997, emerged from South Memphis as a rising star in trap, heavily influenced by the gritty sound of his hometown. His career took off after signing to his cousin (in-law) Young Dolph’s Paper Route Empire in 2017. Dolph, a Memphis rap icon, mentored Glock and collaborated on projects like the 2019 joint album Dum and Dummer and its sequel Dum and Dummer 2 — check out its iconic Beavis and Butthead cover art:

Their close bond fueled Glock’s rise, with hits like “Major” and “Russian Cream” showcasing his signature laid-back flow and street anthems. Young Dolph was tragically killed in 2021, and Glock has carried the Paper Route Empire torch ever since, honoring his mentor’s legacy while carving his own path, as seen in his 2025 Glockaveli era.
A standout moment of the show was when Glock brought up three Young Dolph fans from the audience to perform Dolph hits “100 Shots,” “Major,” and “Preach.” The fans didn’t miss, delivering the flows flawlessly and with so much life, we thought they were plants.
Inspired by Tupac Shakur’s Makaveli persona, Glockaveli is a lively chapter in the Glock’s deservedly growing career. The show left fans buzzing and ready to see what the Memphis prince has next in store.
