The former Ace Hotel and Ace Theater in downtown L.A.’s historic core has been transformed into the STILE Downtown Los Angeles with new additions, including a revamped rooftop splash pool, lobby lounge Happy Hour, and a hip wine bar on the rooftop, Sauced L.A.

A destination for L.A. wine lovers, Sauced  L.A. has a relaxed atmosphere serving a diverse selection of wines and Mediterranean-inspired nightly menus from Parisian Chef Quentin Peron. The menu includes small plates, seasonal fish, oysters, and a curated selection of charcuterie and cheese, with the sounds of live DJ sets featuring jazz, funk, and soul as a backdrop. The front lobby offers a Happy Hour menu from 4 p.m. to  7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.

In addition to the 182 guest rooms, the historic 13-story hotel also features 5,000 square feet of meeting and event space, a rooftop splash pool and lounge, and the famous 1,600-seat independent theater for live entertainment. The Spanish Gothic Design Theater originally opened in 1927 as the flagship movie theater for United Artists.

“We officially transitioned to STILE DTLA in early 2024, immersing ourselves in the building’s rich history and culture to cultivate a vibrant, art-forward atmosphere,” General Manager Justin Henry Tells L.A. Weekly.  “From Korean art installations throughout our public spaces to unique programming events with local artists, we’re creating a genuine sense of community for our guests and local Angelenos.”

AJU CONTINUUM, a global investment company specializing in real estate, branding, and technology, has partnered with Kasa Living, Inc. to manage and operate the historic property.

“We recognize that it’s not just about preserving a building, but also this living, breathing space where the past and the present come together on stage,” says Serena Fortier, General Manager of The United Theater on Broadway.  “The theater  has stood as a beacon of culture and history in the heart of downtown L.A., and we’ll continue to embrace its rich legacy and honor what it stands for.”

Here’s the lineup of upcoming events at the theater.
