Despite another stormy weekend, Angelenos opted to brave the slick city streets for live music, tattoos, skateboarding, art openings and more music. We can't hide indoors every time it rains, can we? Read on for what we did and who we saw.
The third annual MusInk Tattoo & Music Festival took place Friday-Saturday at the OC Fairgrounds, featuring over 300 of the world's best tattoo artists, skaters like Tony Alva, Christian Hosoi and Mike Vallely, plus performances by bands the Cult, the Buzzcocks, the Damned and more. Saturday night, Culver City's LeBasse Projects unveiled “Deva Loka,” the latest collection from Yoshitaka Amano. Beloved for his character designs for Final Fantasy and Vampire Hunter D, Amano worked with auto paint and metallic glitter on this series of paintings. Joining him was local Yoskay Yamamoto, who debuted his largest installation yet, “Tell Me a Story…” in the gallery's project room. Check out more photos in Shannon Cottrell's slideshow.

Insomniac's Awakening went down on Saturday night to a sold out house at The Palladium. The festivities included a live performance from Infected Mushroom with guest Matisyahu, ATB, the Lucent Dossier dancers and much, much more. Check out more photos in Timothy Norris' slideshow.
