Workers Injured in Pipe Explosion Accident near Braker Lane

AUSTIN, TX (February 7, 2024) – Three workers were hospitalized Tuesday afternoon, after a construction pipe explosion at the 10400 block of North FM 973. The incident occurred at approximately 1:00 p.m., near Braker Lane on January 30th.

During a construction site incident, the Austin-Travis County reported that three workers sustained burn injuries while cutting a water pipe, resulting in an explosion. Two of the individuals with serious but non-life-threatening injuries were transported to Dell Seton via STAR Flight, while the third, with critical wounds, was taken to St. David’s South.
 
Authorities have not disclosed additional information, and an ongoing investigation is in progress. Further details will be provided once available.
