2 Juveniles Started a Chase that Ended in Crash on Childs Avenue

MERCED, CA (December 20, 2021) – Two 15-year-old teens led police in pursuit on Childs Avenue Sunday morning.

According to reports, the incident started around 2:30 a.m. in the area of East Childs Avenue and Campus Parkway.

Furthermore, investigation says Merced Police Department attempted to pull over a red Toyota that failed to stop at a red light. But the driver of the Toyota failed to yield and then led the officer on a short pursuit.

Eventually, the chase ended when the car collided with a center median. Officers found the two 15-year-old occupants of the vehicle.

At this time, cops stated both teens did not sustain injuries. So far, no further information about the wreck has been released.

Merced police are conducting active investigation of the crash on Childs Avenue, once available more information will be released.
