Victim Pronounced Dead after Auto Accident near Highway 2

PHELAN, CA (January 27, 2022) Wednesday morning, one person was pronounced dead after a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 138.

The accident took place around 6:42 a.m., on January 19 near Highway 2. Dispatchers responded to the scene shortly after.

California Highway Patrol officers say the multi-vehicle crash involved a pickup-truck, a Mercedes sedan, and a tractor-trailer. However, further circumstances leading up remain unclear.

Reports indicate that first responders located one person trapped inside the pickup-truck. Despite life-saving attempts, medics later pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

A second collision happened less than 500 feet distant and within 10 minutes of the first. Although, the subsequent crash resulted in no serious casualties.
