Victim Pronounced Dead after DUI Accident near Sevilla Avenue

ALBUQUERQUE, NM (April 11, 2024) – One victim died Wednesday night in a DUI collision on Coors Boulevard Southwest.

Upon receiving multiple dispatch calls, crews from the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the scene to find two heavily damaged vehicles. Investigators determined that the driver of a red F-150 truck was traveling at high speeds and collided with another vehicle between Arenal and Blake Road.

Medical personnel attended to one of the drivers involved, transporting them to a nearby hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries. The identity of the deceased has not been disclosed by authorities.

The suspected driver, who exhibited a strong odor of alcohol, underwent evaluation with a breath analyzer, revealing that they were over twice the legal limit. As of now, there has been no announcement regarding whether the driver will face charges related to the crash.
