26-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Single-Car Collision near West Althea Avenue

DOS PALOS, CA (May 14, 2024)  Robert Monreal died early Thursday morning in a solo-car crash on North Russel Avenue.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:40 a.m. near West Althea Avenue, just south of Dos Palos.

For unknown reasons, a vehicle traveling southbound lost control and veered off the road into a water-filled canal.

Emergency units and the water rescue team declared the driver dead at the scene. California Highway Patrol officers later identified the deceased driver as 26-year-old Monreal from Dos Palos.

Officials confirmed that Monreal was the sole occupant of the vehicle. Anyone with information regarding the fatal solo-vehicle crash is asked to call the Fresno-area CHP office at (559) 705-2200.
