Two Pronounced Dead after High-Speed Crash near Pismo Street

SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA (May 22, 2024) – Two victims died Wednesday night, and two others were hurt in a stop-sign crash on Beach and Pismo Street. The incident occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. Reports indicate that the driver of a speeding vehicle heading south on Beach Street ran a stop sign and collided with another car heading west on Pismo Street. The collision caused the speeding vehicle to overturn multiple times, ejecting both male occupants onto the road. Medics transported the ejected men to a nearby hospital, where they later died from their injuries. Police confirmed that one of the deceased was the driver of the speeding car. Additionally, a third passenger in the overturned vehicle suffered minor injuries. The woman driving the westbound car was taken to the hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities are requesting that any witnesses to the fatal stop-sign collision on Beach Street contact their offices immediately.
