But at Wasabi, Jun Hong is adamant about enlightening your taste buds with the variety of Sushis, Sashimi, Noodles and much more, exactly how they are prepped back home. But keeping the presentation contemporary, he intends to exhibit the food more relatable, for people may find it easier to make it a part of their lives rather than treat it as foreign.

Further relating the authenticity of the food he brings to the table to his newborn son, as he opened the doors to Wasabi Sushi and Izakaya in 2000, two weeks after his first son’s birth, he said, “I make sushi for every guest same minded as I make sushi for my newly born son.”

With the aim to expose as many people to Japanese flavors as possible, Jun Hong is taking up every opportunity. Aligning his love for cooking and golf, which is pretty obvious on his Instagram, he also caters food for the game sometimes.

Through his Instagram, he intends to introduce the originality of Japanese food and its unique presentation, like a Sushi cake, as an innovation to the visuals of food without altering the core flavors.
