An artist, fashion designer, property developer and helicopter pilot, Robyn Hills is a multidimensional person who strongly desires to make dreams come true in art, business, and humanitarian work. Robyn’s career as a photographer and winner of Australian Professional Photographer of the Year is remarkable. In addition to her creative abilities, she has surmounted obstacles and social norms to become a resilient role model.

Robyn’s mission statement, “To Make the World a Better and More Beautiful Place,” directs her actions. Because of her strong visual sense, she can see possibilities others might miss and develop innovative ways to improve the world. She has an adventurous spirit and an optimistic outlook on life despite facing challenges, driven by her passion for the world and its inhabitants.
Being commissioned from around the world, Robyn creates unique pieces of photographic art to capture her client’s personality with ‘Art Portraits’. It’s an interpretative blend of the physical self and the internal viewpoint people have of themselves, but rarely show to the world. The finished works are a combination of photographs and art to hang on your walls or as 3D pieces to display in your home.

Robyn has faced several obstacles throughout her life, all of which she has surmounted with unyielding resolve. She courageously left the cult she had grown up in as a child, rewiring her brain to question deeply held ideas. Her lack of schooling didn’t stop her; at the age of 20, she opened her photography studio in defiance of doubt, demonstrating that perseverance can make obstacles become opportunities for achievement.
Another challenge for women in the construction sector was gender. Unfazed, Robyn put together a strong team, demonstrating that gender shouldn’t ever be a barrier with the correct assistance. Her ability to bounce back from a divorce and navigate a new marriage with stepdaughters—one of whom has a disability—demonstrates her grit and dedication to looking for the positive aspects of every circumstance.

Robyn’s experience goes beyond the fields of enterprise and the arts. She bravely entered a male-dominated field as a helicopter pilot, not to make a statement but to follow her love. As someone always looking for learning opportunities and personal development, she counsels people to question their assumptions and take confident, clear steps ahead. She used these new skills to add to her love of photography by capturing the landscape from a unique aerial perspective. These images are now printed onto wearable art as leggings and scarves.

Robyn encourages others to embrace perseverance, curiosity, and the desire to attempt new things with her infectious zest for life. Her distinctive approach to creativity is demonstrated by her ability to see the final product—a structure or an artwork—before it is created.

Future plans include an exhibition in Los Angeles, her artwork appearing on billboards in Times Square, construction of hundreds of affordable homes and apartments and the completion of her charitable projects.
Robyn wants to further her career as an artist, fashion designer, helicopter pilot, and real estate developer in the upcoming years. Her goal is to have her art portraits commissioned worldwide and have her works displayed in and on buildings. Her desire to have a long-lasting influence on the world is demonstrated by her goal of constructing a children’s hospital in Cambodia. Her recently completed building project in Australia has one of her photographs of native trees printed onto architectural fabric and engineered into the design of the building façade.
