Unidentified Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Pickup-Truck Collision near Indian School Road

PHOENIX, AZ (May 7, 2024) – One pedestrian died early Tuesday morning, in a speeding pickup-truck crash on 35th Avenue and Indian School Road.

The incident occurred at approximately 5:00 a.m., on April 30th.

According to reports, a pedestrian pushing a shopping cart was struck by the driver of a northbound pickup truck on 35th Avenue.

The collision resulted in life-threatening injuries to the pedestrian. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Despite efforts to save the pedestrian’s life, medics later declared them dead at the scene. However, authorities have not yet disclosed the individual’s identity or place of residence.

Emergency personnel temporarily closed off the surrounding area at the intersection for clearing operations.

After initial assessments, authorities determined that speed was a contributing factor in the collision. Video footage from the scene depicts significant front-end damage to the pickup truck.

Currently, an active investigation is ongoing to gather additional information. Further details regarding the fatal pedestrian accident will be provided once they become available.
