Truck Vs. Pedestrian Collision near Hollywood Boulevard Left One Fatality

LOS ANGELES, CA (March 6, 2024) – Saturday afternoon, a pedestrian crash on North Vermont Avenue involving a big rig claimed the life of a man. 

Police responded to the deadly crash around 2:20 p.m. in the 1600 block of N. Vermont Avenue, near Hollywood Boulevard.

Upon further examination, authorities discovered that a Sysco food truck struck the pedestrian while making a westward turn onto Hollywood Blvd.

First responders indicated that the pedestrian suffered severe injuries and succumbed to them at the scene. Meanwhile, the truck driver stayed at the location of the incident and collaborated with the authorities.

It was suspected that the individual was a member of the unhoused community. The Los Angeles Police Department will disclose the identity of the deceased victim once the next of kin have been informed.
