Bicycle-Auto Collision near Calle Primera Resulted in Serious Injuries

SAN DIEGO, CA (February 12, 2024) – Wednesday evening, a head-on crash on Willow Road involving a bicycle sent a man to a hospital. 

At around 5:40 p.m., the police responded to reports of the collision around 200 block of Willow Road near Calle Primera.

Based on the initial investigation, a man riding a black bicycle southbound on the sidewalk. 

Subsequently, the bicyclist went into the northbound lanes where he collided with a white 1996 Honda Accord straight on. 

Responding medical personnel transported the 30-year-old male bicyclist to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries. 

Police said the Honda driver and their passenger stayed at the scene. Authorities do not suspect intoxication to be a factor in the collision.
