23-Year-Old Woman Arrested after DUI Collision near East Canon Perdido Street

SANTA BARBARA, CA (February 1, 2024) Leslie Hernandez was arrested Sunday night after a hit-and-run crash on North Milpas and East Canon Perdido Street.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:40 p.m.

Police reported that the driver of a vehicle lost control before colliding with a parked car and an individual attempting to enter it. Following the impact, the suspect fled the scene without contacting authorities or providing assistance.

Paramedics arrived and transported the victim, who sustained moderate injuries, to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. However, police have not disclosed the victim’s identity.

In the aftermath of the incident, law enforcement successfully located the hit-and-run suspect at 700 Spring Street. Leslie Hernandez, a 23-year-old, was apprehended on charges of felony DUI and several other offenses. Hernandez is currently held in Santa Barbara County Jail with bail set at $100,000.
