Odessa Family Killed in Head-On Collision on 42nd Street

HECTOR COUNTY, TX (April 29, 2024)Hector Martinez-Olivas, Norma Marquez-Gonzales and Leo Sandoval died Saturday, in a head-on crash on 42nd Street. The incident occurred at approximately 2:45 p.m., near Farm-to-Market Road 1936 on April 20th.

According to reports, 19-year-old Sandoval was driving a 2013 Dodge Ram in the wrong direction on the eastbound lanes. This led to a head-on collision with a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu, which was being driven by Martinez-Olivas with Marquez-Gonzales and a 14-year-old boy as passengers.

Due to the severity of their injuries, 46-year-old Martinez-Olivas, 45-year-old Marquez-Gonzales, and the teenage boy were pronounced dead at the scene by medics.

Sandoval was transported to Medical Center Hospital by responding authorities, where he later succumbed to his injuries. As of now, no further details have been disclosed, and an ongoing investigation is underway.
