High-performing professionals are becoming sick. Though one could assume that an above-average salary and having reached the peaks of success are synonymous with fulfillment, statistics paint a drastically different picture. As highlighted by Harvard Business Review, 53% of managers and executives reported feeling burnt out—which, surprisingly or not, is more than regular employees. With burnout come detrimental side effects, including mental and physical exhaustion, sleep disturbances, and anxiety, as well as absenteeism and dysregulated emotions, which, in turn, impact organizations.
When external praise, renown, and even surpassing one’s own expectations leave executives yearning for more—more purpose, fulfillment, and joy—success rings hollow. To help high-performing professionals (HPPs) transform emptiness into a lasting legacy, Nancy Ho, Life & Business Strategist and Transformative Coach, founded Breakthrough with Nancy Ho. Within this inspirational space, clients can find a kaleidoscope of tailored, strategic solutions that maximize individual potential, ultimately leading to a more intentional, present life—in and out of the workplace.

Nancy Ho
Nancy has been committed to her mission for more than 26 years, gradually entrenching her impact through public speaking, one-on-one sessions, and authorship. Unarguably impressive, her career, however, lacks meaning without Nancy’s why. “The higher you climb, the bigger the void is,” she stresses. “I’ve been there myself, chasing professional dreams without purpose. I’ve learned my lesson, and I know there is another way.”
Nancy calls this distortion the ‘Paradox of Success,’ describing the increasingly popular phenomenon of individuals grappling with internal struggles despite enjoying seemingly perfect lives. At the heart of this discrepancy is a misalignment between professional and personal prosperity, often stemming from a warped perception of what success means. Though its meaning is unique to every HPP, Nancy knows what success is not, “Money, power, fame, and influence will never guarantee happiness. Having a life polished on the surface is idle if your heart, mind, and soul aren’t in it.”
An equilibrium between career satisfaction and personal fulfillment is the primary objective of Nancy’s coaching, and this seasoned expert achieves that by delving into the deep end of every client’s traumas, motivations, and true desires. This mission is rooted deeply in Nancy’s journey, best defined by this Life Strategist’s confession: “Success came early to me. But it hasn’t been without its toll.”
Nancy was born into a prosperous Southeast Asian family in the 60s, leading a lifestyle most would consider privileged: elite schools in Singapore, renowned universities in Switzerland and the UK, and residences in prime locations. Driven by her late father’s belief in Nancy’s potential and uniqueness, she maximized all opportunities that came her way, basking in the glory of entrepreneurial success even as early as age 13. Despite her loving family’s support, earning a significant income, and being in positions of substantial impact from her early 20s, Nancy was shadowed by unsettling emptiness.
It wasn’t until a health issue Nancy had ignored for two years couldn’t be ignored anymore that this then 28-year-old HPP decided to turn her life around and care for more than professional success. When the cyst in her womb was confirmed non-cancerous, Nancy took this positive news as her second chance at success, this time prioritizing overall wellness over sheer metrics.
Reminiscing about her life before, Nancy remembers anger, failed relationships, and constant conflicts. “I remember thinking I found the one. But we were both leaders, committed to the chase and always needing things done our way. Even positive intentions were taken as an attack. We never resolved anything, we just argued until it fell apart. I learned my lessons now, I know that love is understanding and kind.”
For Nancy, it took years of inner pain to realize that there is a more fulfilling, joyful path to success. Amidst broken relationships, damaged familial bonds, and immense regret, Nancy found purpose, now tapping into her experience to guide executives toward balanced wellness. Over the years, she has lifted hundreds of HPPs out of darkness, helping them rediscover their way. This experience also prompted profound reflection, with Nancy trying to explore the reasons why.
“Most people start with positive intention, whether it is to provide for their family, enjoy a life filled with travel and adventure, or to give back to the less privileged. If that’s the case, why do they lose their way?” she muses. “People chase this American dream, this vision of a perfect life, but it’s just a facade. When you chase something that doesn’t exist and the road leads to nowhere, you will eventually lose yourself—and when that happens, it’s incredibly difficult to return to the right path.”
What exacerbates the issue is the natural human need to fill the emptiness. If individuals can’t find happiness in their careers or personal lives, they are more prone to external substances that, just for a moment, create a false sense of joy. To empower HPPs with the tools needed for long-term fulfillment, Nancy curated a 5-step framework, incorporated in all her services.
Recognizing that no odyssey toward true happiness is linear, the roadmap starts with introspection, encouraging executives to escape from the chaos of everyday life to reflect on what matters the most to their authentic selves. This step is followed by individual improvement, which is all about sparking personal growth through continuous learning, evolving, and pushing boundaries. Focusing on individual improvement also helps achieve a sense of self-efficacy, which eradicates the need for external validation.
To illuminate what a work-life balance looks like to every individual client, Nancy champions integrating personal & professional life, an essential step that makes space for personal enjoyment, leisure, and small pleasure in daily routines. While interpersonal investment helps HPPs navigate the nuanced territory of maintaining happy and healthy relationships, investing intrinsically provides tools that support holistic well-being, encouraging clients to exercise regularly, practice mindfulness, and treat self-care as a necessity, not a luxury.
While Nancy redefines professional landscapes with a nuanced, human-centric approach to personal fulfillment, Breakthrough with Nancy Ho also integrates data-driven and results-oriented business strategies. With a comprehensive suite of services, this Life & Business Strategist addresses every HPP’s unique needs. “It’s not about diminishing the value of professional success,” she shares. “It’s about realizing that money and renown can co-exist with personal fulfillment. It is this harmony that empowers you to be you and do you with purpose—to leave a positive legacy without compromising on success or happiness.”
