33-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after DUI Collision near Crismon Road

MESA, AZ (April 30, 2024) Christina Diamond was killed and David Lane was hurt Monday morning, in a DUI collision on University Drive and Crismon Road.

Police officers responded to the scene at approximately 1:00 a.m., on April 18th.

According to reports, Lane, aged 66, was driving a Ford Mustang at a speed of 105 miles per hour in the vicinity. Subsequently, the speeding Mustang collided with a Nissan Frontier, operated by Diamond. The collision propelled the Nissan forward, causing it to overturn and collide with a nearby fence.

Simultaneously, the Mustang collided with a power pole and erupted into flames approximately a quarter-mile away. The impact of the crash ejected Diamond from her vehicle onto the roadway.

Despite efforts by medical personnel, Diamond, aged 33, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities intend to detain Lane in Maricopa County jail on multiple charges once he is released from the hospital. They have disclosed that Lane’s blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was .23, nearly three times the legal limit. Further investigation into the DUI crash on University Drive is ongoing.

Deepest condolences and sympathies are with the family of Christina Diamond.
