26-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after SUV Collision near Lander Avenue

TURLOCK, CA (May 10, 2024)Christian Rivera died Tuesday morning, in a two-car accident on southbound Highway 99.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:35 a.m., just north of Lander Avenue.

Reports indicate that a 2010 Mazda sedan and a 2022 Ford SUV collided while traveling south in the No. 1 lane.

The impact propelled the Mazda southwestward, causing it to roll over multiple times upon reaching the west shoulder. The collision resulted in the Mazda driver being ejected from the vehicle.

Emergency responders rushed him to Doctors Medical Center, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries. Meanwhile, the 28-year-old female driver of the Ford from San Jose remained unharmed.

The deceased driver was identified by the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office as 26-year-old Rivera from Modesto.

Authorities in Turlock are actively investigating the details surrounding this fatal incident. Further information will be provided as it becomes available.
