Powerful music executive Brandon Silverstein’s latest move is making waves in the real estate industry and the music entertainment business he is renowned in. Silverstein recently purchased the 3,700-square-foot estate of the late actress and performer Angela Lansbury in Brentwood, California. While Lansbury paid $1 million for the home in 1985 ($2.5 million in today’s money), Brandon Silverstein and his wife purchased the house for $5 million, nearly $500,000 over the asking price named by Lansbury’s executors. The actress’s former home will likely serve as a West Coast base for Brandon Silverstein, who splits his time overseeing S10 Entertainment between the company’s Los Angeles and New York City offices.

The 1960s-built home is a beautiful example of Spanish hacienda-style architecture on the exterior, including a fully terracotta roof with beige stucco. Previous owners renovated the house following its original construction, and Lansbury made it her own with an interior that reflects an English cottage aesthetic. Perhaps most appealing, however, are the grounds. The home sits on a half-acre lot with ample room for an English-style garden, multiple al fresco entertaining spaces, and a black-bottom swimming pool. Residents and visitors are invited to take advantage of the home’s seamless flow between indoor and outdoor spaces, expanding the overall appeal of the living spaces.

Lansbury, who lived in the home until her death in October 2022, was extremely fond of the gardens and maintained plantings in a dedicated greenhouse. The British actress, born to English and Irish parents, made sure that her love of Irish and British living was reflected throughout the home’s décor and styling. The kitchen features wood paneling and stainless appliances with an eat-in island and breakfast nook. Formal entertaining areas are also spacious, including a dining room, terraces, and a great room. While the home is over 60 years old, the upkeep has been remarkable, creating a classic space while appealing to modern needs.

Brandon Silverstein and Angela Lansbury are both now homeowners of the Brentwood estate, representing the music and entertainment industry, each making their mark in different yet significant ways. Lansbury was lauded for her acting and singing prowess, earning her six Tony Awards, a BAFTA Lifetime Achievement Award, and six Golden Globe Awards. She is also remembered for starring in the television series “Murder, She Wrote,” which aired for 12 seasons.

In his turn, Brandon Silverstein’s company S10 Entertainment stands at the forefront of the entertainment industry as a dynamic and full-service entity encompassing management, music publishing, record labels, TV/Film production, and strategic investments. The entertainment company boasts partnerships with industry leaders such as JAY-Z, Ryan Tedder, Max Matsuura, and Simon Fuller.

Silverstein has been named to Billboard’s “40 Under 40” and Forbes’ “30 Under 30,” and his music publishing company, S10 Publishing has a prolific catalog that features tracks by artists like Justin Bieber, Bad Bunny, Rihanna, Drake, Doja Cat, Tate McRae, Selena Gomez, Kid Laroi, Khalid, DJ Snake, and The Weeknd. The S10 catalog has achieved over 40 billion streams and includes 15 #1 songs over the past three years.

With most of the home structured on a single level, the space is designed for easy living and comfortable access while offering the utmost privacy with gated and walled security features. The house also notably includes a skylight-lit master suite with vaulted ceilings and an en suite bathroom with dual vanities, tub, and shower fixtures. The home’s listing and buyer representation were managed by Mick Partridge of The Beverly Hills Estates and Maksym Khomin (formerly) of Coldwell Banker.

While Lansbury’s children were sad to part with the property, they emphasized the importance of moving on to the next stage in their family’s story. Brandon Silverstein’s family will be the next to enjoy the home’s charm and contemporary fixtures.
