Biokidé has been breaking barriers in the vast and ever-evolving cosmetics industry as a sustainable luxury cosmetics brand.

Having the vision to attain specific goals in life is one thing, but having the courage and the right mental attitude to take risks when required and make bold choices, to stand unconventional yet relevant in one’s chosen industry, is a different game altogether. It takes a lot for people to make it to the latter category, but there has been an influx of female business owners and professionals who have been doing precisely that and stunning people worldwide with their work ethics, their business astuteness and the purpose with which they work on thriving their brands and businesses. We couldn’t help but notice the rise of one such incredible woman, a woman of genuine purpose; we are talking about Fatimata Kane.

Fatimata Kane is the one that up-and-comers in the business world are looking up to for the sheer brilliance she has shown in her entrepreneurial journey so far and the exceptional ideas she has worked on to better the whole cosmetics world and inspire people to move toward sustainability in the industry. All these factors and more have propelled her forward in the business world and helped her reach an influential position. She is the brain behind Biokidé, a distinctive brand in the cosmetics space that promotes sustainability with products made from the oil and pulp of baobab fruits.

Biokidé has grown as a sustainable luxury cosmetics company, promoting Made in France and Senegalese fair trade through baobab oil, making them members of Positive Luxury. Biokidé is also in the process of being certified by Positive Luxury with the Butterfly Mark, which is a remarkable status awarded to luxury businesses for their commitment to creating a positive impact on society and the planet. The independent certification is given to those luxury brands that meet the highest standards of verified innovation and environmental and social performance.

What is incredible to learn about this brand is that is founded by Fatimata Kane, who has, through all these years, remained a thriving founder of multiple successful brands that have exuded her Senegalese roots. One of her biggest creations was an industrial cleaning company named KAPWAN, which also got her a price in 2014. To cater to her passion for doing more in the entrepreneurial world, she established another cosmetic brand, and that’s how Biokidé came into existence. The raw material of her incredible product line is created from the oil or pulp of baobab fruits, a fruit she discovered while exploring her traveling endeavors.

She always wanted to offer women naturally extracted and clean cosmetics. So she ensured to offer customers the richness of African raw materials combined with her French know-how in the cosmetic sector, leading her to establish Biokidé. Interestingly, she followed a course to be a nurse after obtaining her baccalaureate and then reoriented herself in management. She is also an awarded personality, winning the CREATRICE D’avenir course, which is about highlighting women entrepreneurs in a region in France.

Fatimata Kane is also a philanthropist and has collaborated with ‘Baobab des Saveurs plant’, a fair trade brand committed to training farmers in Senegal. They also plan to open a showroom in Champs-Elysées in France, showcasing the power of luxury and sustainability.
