31-Year-Old Police Officer Pronounced Dead after Car Accident near Campbell Avenue

TUCSON, AZ (April 30, 2024)Officer Adam Buckner died late Sunday night in an on-duty crash on 6th Street and Campbell Avenue. Police officers responded to the scene around 10:00 p.m., on March 31st. The Tucson Police Department reports that 31-year-old Buckner was traveling north on Campbell Avenue, approaching the intersection of 6th Street with a green light when another vehicle failed to yield and collided with Buckner. Investigators noted that Officer Buckner had activated his emergency lights at the time of the incident. Emergency responders promptly arrived at the scene. Paramedics transported Buckner to Banner University Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The other driver sustained minor injuries and showed no signs of impairment. Additionally, the New Orleans Police Department conveyed their condolences in a statement. A memorial service was held on April 8th at 10:00 a.m. at the Tucson Police Department Headquarters.
