Shauvik Sharan’s Flyght Club Bridges Indian Roots and Global Alternative Music

Flyght Club 3

Listening to Flyght Club, you can very easily hear the influence of both of Shauvik Sharan’s worlds. Based in Los Angeles but born in Pune, India, Sharan wears all hats in the creative process of his music, as he boldly blends Indian musical melodies with Western alt-pop, EDM, rock, blues, and electronic production into a cohesive soundscape that you won’t easily hear anywhere else. His work integrates Indian musical elements directly into contemporary Western songwriting and production, resulting in a sound that is distinctly his own.

In practice, Sharan’s Flyght Club goes beyond being a solo project, bringing together the different sides of his work while giving his artistic identity a clear place within the international music landscape. That breadth is reflected not only in the scope of the project itself but also in the recognition it has received along the way.

One only needs to look at his track record across 2025 and 2026, where Sharan earned Best Alternative Song at the Hollywood Independent Music Awards for “Kiss Me Through The Night,” multi-year wins at the InterContinental Music Awards for “Sweet Honey” and “How Smooth,” and finalist spots at the John Lennon Songwriting Contest and International Songwriting Competition. His work also extends into film, having composed, mixed, and mastered the original score and soundtrack for the award-winning short film Induction.

Stagewise, you’ve likely seen him at LA Fashion Week, or River Fest at LA State Historic Park, or maybe you remember that he was chosen from thousands of global applicants to perform on the Arena stage at the 2026 NAMM Show; Flyght Club brought its cross-cultural sound straight to the center of the industry. From cultural landmarks like the Venice Holi Bash to iconic West Coast rooms like Whisky a Go Go, The Hotel Cafe, and a Live Nation showcase at The Peppermint Club.

His independent releases have reached audiences well beyond the live music circuit, with Flyght Club accumulating millions of streams across music platforms and more than 500,000 views on YouTube. His music and content have also generated millions of views across social media, while his audience has grown to more than 25,000 followers across platforms.

Through both Flyght Club and his community work, he continues to demonstrate how an independent artist can build a real international career on his own terms.

Sharan’s a natural cultural ambassador for India and the Indian diaspora alike, having built a presence within the global music industry through his professional memberships and voting affiliations. He’s a Recording Academy Voting Member in the Songwriters & Composers Wing. That institutional footprint is further supported by his memberships with the Society of Composers & Lyricists, the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and the Audio Engineering Society, connecting his work to organizations that support, recognize, and advocate for music creators across different areas of the industry.

Using his considerable skill set, Sharan also extends his work beyond his own releases and into the broader South Asian arts community through his work with Artronika. Serving as a songwriter, producer, audio engineer, production manager, performer, and co-host for the South Asian arts nonprofit, Sharan has contributed to original cross-cultural music projects, live festivals, and the SONA radio show on KXLU 88.9 FM.

Through Flyght Club and his community work, Shauvik Sharan is carving out a space for Indian identity within the international music landscape while building a career on his own terms. His path from Pune to Los Angeles reflects a broader ambition to bring Indian musical influences into global alternative music without separating them from the rest of his creative identity. Flyght Club offers a practical example of how an independent artist can preserve creative control while building an international audience and making cultural representation part of the work itself.
