BEAUZ Want to Keep on Dancing: Asian-American dance music duo BEAUZ were classically trained musicians in their youth, but their love for electronic music came from festivals.

“As brothers, we took turns making the coolest beats, and organized and curated our own shows,” they say. “Eventually after Bernie [Yang, aka BSY] graduated from USC, we made the decision that music was indeed going to be what we do for life.”

They describe their sound today as “Clean sounds, filthy beats, and touching melodies — like underground pop romance.” More generally, they love to see music evolve.

“It’s amazing to see house music taking over the globe again, both in Asia and in the US,” they say. “As the dance music audience matures, their musical taste will grow deeper and idiosyncratic, thus allowing them to love and accept more genres. We’re excited to see what transnational artists like us can do to further breakdown cultural & language barriers.”

The latest release is the “Keep on Dancing” single.

“‘Keep on Dancing’ is an expression of attitude,” they say. “In a world filled with adversities and self-doubt, nothing can stop us from dancing to the joys of life. When we were creating the song with Heleen, we envisioned a classy, unapologetic woman who defies against the constraints in a patriarchal world, so we brought the story to life using enigmatic mallets and strings as the the main instrumental elements, accompanied by a climatic hard-hitting bassline. This dark beauty was in the works for two years and we are happy to finally share it with you all.”

Looking ahead, they have a lot more new music planned for 2022.

“From dance floor bangers to catchy emotional ballads, we are ready to take you all on an extraordinary journey,” they say. “This year we are also hitting some major international cities for festival appearances and we are planning a North American tour as well. Most of all, we plan to make sure we make the best music for all of you. Thanks for rocking with us.”
