22-Year-Old Man Arrested, Three Hospitalized after Car Accident on Peoria Avenue

PHOENIX, AZ (May 6, 2024)Anthony Curtis was arrested Saturday, after a multi-car collision on 28th and Peoria Avenue on April 27th.

Law enforcement detected 22-year-old Anthony Curtis speeding in the vicinity. Upon noticing the police, Curtis lost control of his vehicle, leading to a collision with multiple other cars.

Investigators say several occupants of Curtis’s vehicle attempted to flee. During the incident, a patrol officer accidentally struck a child who darted into the roadway.

Paramedics promptly arrived and transported three victims, including the child, to a nearby hospital, where they are currently listed in stable condition.

Emergency personnel temporarily closed off the surrounding area for cleanup and preliminary procedures. After clearing operations, authorities apprehended Curtis and placed him under arrest on multiple charges.
