Two Pronounced Dead after Solo-Car Crash near Normandie Avenue

SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CA (February 6, 2024) – Two victims died early Friday morning in a high-speed crash on eastbound 105 Freeway.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m., near Crenshaw and Normandie Avenue.

According to reports, a vehicle suspected of being engaged in street racing drifted rapidly across lanes. Subsequently, it veered down an embankment, collided with a tree, and burst into flames.

First responders on the scene pronounced both occupants of the vehicle deceased. As of now, the identities of the individuals have not been disclosed to the public.

Los Angeles Officials shut down several eastbound lanes of the 105 Freeway while crews worked to clear the aftermath. Eyewitnesses to the high-speed collision are urged to promptly contact the LAPD. Additional information will be shared once it becomes available.
