13-Year-Old Girl Dead, 14-Year-Old Girl Hospitalized after UTV Accident in Elfrida

COCHISE COUNTY, AZ (May 9, 2024) – A teen girl was killed late Saturday afternoon, in a UTV crash on Hawkeye Road.

The incident occurred on private property at approximately 5:30 p.m. on May 4th, along Hawkeye Road, located about 40 miles outside of Bisbee.

Both teenagers were ejected from the side-by-side UTV under unknown circumstances.

Emergency services responded to the scene, discovering the two girls in critical condition. The injuries sustained by the 13-year-old proved fatal, as medics pronounced her deceased on-site.

Meanwhile, the 14-year-old was airlifted to a Tucson hospital, where she remains in critical condition.

Initial investigations revealed that safety measures such as seatbelts and helmets were not utilized by those involved. The investigation into the UTV crash on Hawkeye Road remains active at this time.
