The 83rd Annual Golden Globes brought us into the thick of award season last night, Sunday, Jan. 11, at the Beverly Hilton.
Nikki Glaser returned as host following the rave reviews she earned from her duties last year.
Film winners included “Hamnet” triumphing in Best Motion Picture – Drama. “One Battle After Another” securing Best Musical or Comedy, with Teyana Taylor earning Best Supporting Actress. “KPop Demon Hunters” winning Best Animated film, with its song “Golden” taking Best Original Song. Timothée Chalamet claiming Best Actor – Musical or Comedy for “Marty Supreme.” “Sinners” honored for Cinematic Box Office Achievement and Best Original Score. Rose Byrne winning Best Actress – Musical or Comedy for “If I Had Legs I’d Kick You.”
On the TV side, “The Studio” won Best Series — Musical or Comedy, with Seth Rogen taking Best Actor. “The Pitt” won in the drama category. Owen Cooper received Best Supporting Actor for “Adolescence,” at 16 being the youngest to ever take the prize. And Jean Smart claiming the Best Actress – Musical or Comedy for “Hacks,” for the third time.
This year, the Globes introduced a category for Best Podcast, and Amy Poehler was the inaugural winner for her pod “Good Hang.”
