Under a crisp November sky, Bosnian-German DJ and producer Solomun delivered a dynamic extended set Saturday night, Nov. 29. This show marked the debut of Framework’s new venue, Reframe Studios Outdoors, and served as the grand closing party for Framework’s 2025 outdoor season. Their winter series, dubbed re:frame, will begin on Jan. 16, at an indoor studio on the same complex.
Solomun has a decade-long history with Framework, from early sets at Sound Nightclub in 2014 to dominating Exposition Park in 2023 and 2024. With support from California-bred tech-house artist Max Styler, Saturday’s sold-out performance drew throngs of electronic music devotees to the Atwater Village site, blending tech-house grooves with the company’s signature immersive production. Solomun kept dancers moving for three and a half hours. The event capped a busy fall for Framework, following shows like the Innervisions 20th anniversary and Adam Port on Hollywood Boulevard.
Solomun (full name Mladen Solomun) emerged in the late 2000s as one of techno and house music’s most distinctive voices through his Diynamic Music imprint, launched in 2006 with Adriano Trovato. Known for blending deep, emotive melodies with rolling basslines and subtle techno edge, he broke through internationally with his remix of Noir & Haze’s “Around,” which became an Ibiza anthem and earned him Best Producer at the DJ Awards. His long-running Solomun +1 residency at Pacha Ibiza and the open-air Solomun + Live series cemented his reputation for marathon sets and unexpected guest pairings.
In recent years, Solomun has balanced high-profile festival headline slots with a return to underground roots via his Diynamic Neon Nights tours. He’s developed a loyal West Coast following drawn to his crowd-reading ability and emotional, story-driven selections. Saturday’s show marked his latest chapter in the city, reinforcing LA’s status as one of the few American markets where he consistently plays extended headline sets.
