Klassik Frescobar originally recorded “Dansa” in 2023 over a beat produced by DJ Kalli. However, the song remained unreleased until the artist decided to finally give it a chance. Without a multimillion-dollar campaign, support from a major label, or traditional marketing strategies, he relied on posting spontaneous short videos on TikTok, where audiences took care of the rest.
It all started with homemade clips that quickly spread across the platform. Then came a music video filmed outside a liquor store in Fort Lauderdale, a setting as carefree as the song itself, which went on to surpass 16 million views. Later, a second version was shot in New York, further cementing a phenomenon that eventually expanded from social media to streaming platforms and stages around the world.
The son of a Jamaican father and influenced from an early age by Saint Lucian culture through his family and collaborators, Frescobar found the perfect vehicle for building his own artistic identity in Dennery Segment Bouyon. Featuring minimalist production built almost entirely around percussion and vocals, the artist, who also handled mixing and mastering, proves that, sometimes, simplicity is the most effective formula.
The impact of “Dansa” has also transformed the musician’s career. The single has opened the door to performances across England, France, West Africa, New York, and Greece. His schedule continues to grow with upcoming dates in Barbados, the Bahamas, and Guyana.
On stage, Klassik Frescobar aims for every performance to be much more than simply playing his songs. “I want people to leave with an experience, not just a karaoke session. I’m very fan-oriented,” the artist has explained.
