Kristina Kajic: From Refugee to Entrepreneur, the Story of Resilience Behind Bella Grace Global

Kristina Kajic

Long before Kristina Kajic became the founder and CEO of Bella Grace Global, she learned one of the hardest lessons in life: sometimes you do not get to choose when everything changes. You only get to choose what you do after it does.

Kajic was still a child when the collapse of Yugoslavia transformed the world around her. War brought uncertainty into what should have been ordinary childhood years, eventually forcing her family from the life they knew and beginning a journey marked by displacement, refugee camps and unfamiliar borders. At an age when home should have felt permanent, Kajic was learning instead how quickly circumstances could change and how much courage it could take simply to keep moving forward.

Eventually, her family secured asylum in Canada and began the difficult process of rebuilding in a new country. The immediate danger may have been behind them, but beginning again brought challenges of its own, from cultural and language barriers to financial uncertainty and the challenge of creating a sense of home somewhere entirely new. Watching her family rebuild gave Kajic an early understanding that losing one version of your life does not mean losing the ability to create another.

That distinction would become increasingly important as she grew older. The resilience once required by circumstance gradually became part of how Kajic approached opportunity, risk and eventually entrepreneurship, although the path toward Bella Grace Global would be anything but direct.

Her earlier business experience took her into industries far removed from beauty and wellness. Kajic built a high-end wine distribution company and became a restaurant owner, gaining firsthand experience with ownership, customer relationships, financial pressure and consequential decision-making. Entrepreneurship was no longer simply an idea about independence; it became an education in responsibility and in understanding how decisions made by a founder can extend far beyond the founder herself.

Those experiences also deepened Kajic’s interest in personal development and the barriers that can prevent capable people from creating opportunities of their own. The subject carried particular weight given her experience with displacement, cultural expectations and rebuilding, eventually influencing the kind of company she wanted to create and the role entrepreneurship could play in helping people take greater ownership of their futures.

Founded in 2021, Bella Grace USA, Inc., which operates under the Bella Grace Global brand, was built around Kajic’s vision of bringing together beauty, wellness, entrepreneurship and the rapidly evolving world of digital influence. As social media changed how consumers discovered products, built communities and developed businesses, Kajic saw an opportunity to create a company that reflected the increasingly interconnected nature of those worlds.

That vision would eventually extend beyond products. Bella Grace developed InfluencingU, an educational platform focused on helping participants better understand social media, personal branding and building an online presence, while the company expanded its beauty and wellness portfolio and grew beyond its original American footprint into international markets.

Growth, however, has also brought perspective. Kajic does not describe entrepreneurship as an uninterrupted sequence of victories, nor does she attempt to remove the difficult chapters from the Bella Grace story. Changing markets, difficult decisions, setbacks and expensive lessons have all influenced how she now thinks about leadership and reinforced her belief that credibility is demonstrated not only when circumstances are favorable, but also through how leaders communicate and respond when they are not.

Those lessons are now shaping the next chapter of Bella Grace Global. Kajic is personally investing capital into the company while focusing on a renewed direction for the business. Before the end of this year, Bella Grace plans to introduce the next evolution of its signature ELIXIR, followed in 2027 by the launch of a new line of key products designed to expand the company’s beauty and wellness portfolio. Rather than attempting to recreate an earlier version of Bella Grace, she sees an opportunity to use everything the company has learned to determine what deserves to come next.

“One of the things I’m most grateful for is the incredible community that has grown alongside Bella Grace. Our influencers and ambassadors have believed in this vision, shared our products and represented our brand with so much passion, and our customers are truly at the heart of everything we do. I love our customers, and I never take their trust or loyalty for granted. Bella Grace has always been about more than products. It’s about people, relationships and a community that I’m incredibly proud to be part of,” Kristina says.

For Kajic, there is an important difference between starting over and building again. Starting over implies returning to zero, while building again means carrying forward the judgment, relationships, experience and perspective earned through everything that came before. It is an entrepreneurial philosophy, but it is also connected to a lesson she first encountered decades before she could have imagined becoming a CEO.

That philosophy is also carrying Kajic beyond Bella Grace. She is now building EternaLife RX, an emerging venture in the health and wellness space that represents an important expansion of her entrepreneurial vision. This time, Kajic is approaching the opportunity not as a first-time founder discovering what kind of entrepreneur she wants to become, but as an experienced businesswoman with a clearer understanding of how she wants to build, who she wants around her and what she expects leadership to look like.

EternaLife RX therefore represents more than another company attached to Kajic’s name. It reflects what happens when experience changes the way an entrepreneur evaluates opportunities, makes decisions and thinks about the future. Where Bella Grace has given Kajic years of lessons about products, people, community, international expansion and leadership, EternaLife RX gives her the opportunity to apply those lessons to a new chapter in health and wellness.

Her next chapter will extend beyond business as well. In 2027, Kajic plans to release Empire After Exile, a memoir exploring the experiences behind the entrepreneur, including war, displacement, refugee life, immigration, motherhood and the long journey from surviving circumstances to taking ownership of what comes afterward. The book will provide context for a life that cannot be fully understood simply by looking at the companies associated with her name.

In many ways, its title captures the arc of Kajic’s story. Exile came before entrepreneurship. Rebuilding came before ownership. Long before she understood balance sheets, products or international markets, she understood what it meant to watch a life be reconstructed after circumstances had changed it completely.

That history does not guarantee success, and Kajic does not present hardship as though it automatically produces it. What those experiences gave her was perspective: the understanding that a difficult chapter does not have to become the entire story and that rebuilding can sometimes produce something fundamentally different from what existed before.

As a child, Kristina Kajic had little control over war, borders, displacement or where her family would eventually call home. As an adult, she has something she did not possess then: the ability to decide what she wants to create from everything that came before.

Bella Grace Global represents an important part of what she has already built. EternaLife RX represents an expansion of where she is going, while Empire After Exile will tell the story of where the instinct to rebuild began.

The refugee who once watched her family reconstruct a life in a new country is now the entrepreneur deciding what her next chapter will become. This time, Kajic is not rebuilding simply because circumstances have forced her to begin again. She is building with experience behind her, ownership in her hands and the freedom to do it on her own terms.
