Jenny Ortega’s portrayal of Wednesday Addams in Netflix’s new hit Wednesday is getting all sorts of love since its release last *Wednesday,* Nov. 23rd, but it’s one scene in particular that’s spurring viewers to get up and dance. Thankfully, Netflix and fans online couldn’t help but share the moment in question from episode four “Woe What a Night.” Watch the Wednesday Addams dance scene by Jenna Ortega, courtesy Netflix:

Without giving too much comment on the show itself, we all can agree the dance is one of the more fun moments on our TV screens this fall. It’s the 2020s update to Backstreet Boys’ “Everybody,” which itself was an update of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” — all meeting Corpse Bride with the soundtrack of “Goo Goo Muck” by the Cramps.

The dance number in the show comes at the Rave’N dance at Nevermore Academy that Wednesday attends with her fellow outsiders including her date Tyler Galpin (played by Hunter Doohan) in this Tim Burton reboot/reimagining of The Addams Family.

Netflix was keen enough to also share a video of the cast reacting to the dance scene, telling us the actress Jenna Ortega choregraphed the number herself:

The actress tweeted her inspirations for the dance she put together: “Thanks to Siouxsie Sioux, Bob Fosse’s Rich Man’s Frug, Lisa Loring, Lene Lovich, Denis Lavant, and archival footage of goths dancing in clubs in the 80’s. Helped me out on this one.”

The 20 year old actress from the Coachella Valley, CA is a rising star, from starting acting in her pre-teens to playing the titular role in Wednesday. It’s not her only spooky role — she plays Tara Carpenter in this year’s Screa, a role that earned her the MTV Movie Award for Most Frightened Performance. She’s reprising the character in Scream 6, set to be released next year.
