The 6 Pillars of Life: The Balance of You Co. Framework to Impactful One-On-One Ayurveda Coaching

Cultivating balance in your life is key to achieving goals and avoiding burnout. Looking at the bigger picture of your thoughts and behaviors is much more beneficial than focusing on a single area of your life. Whether you’re looking to improve your diet, fitness regime, or self-care practices, establishing a comprehensive plan is the first step to making anything happen. However, designing this can be confusing and time-consuming if you’re not sure what must change. Tessa Arnold, a certified Chopra instructor and founder of Balance of You Co., aims to make this process personal and intuitive through her One-On-One Ayurveda coaching. She also guides her clients to find peace in stillness and adopt change as a positive part of life.

Balance of You Co. uses a 6 pillar system based on Ayurvedic principles to inform its one-on-one coaching:

  • Nutrition: What you eat and how you eat influences digestion and overall physical, and mental health.
  • Movement: Finding the right type of movement for you is key, releasing pent-up emotions and boosting dopamine.
  • Sleep: Getting the right amount of rest is fundamental for supporting cognitive functioning, preventing health issues, and maintaining high energy levels.
  • Mindfulness: Developing your awareness and focus through activities like meditation helps manage negative emotions and promote a sense of calm.
  • Emotional Health: Being able to understand, process, and release emotions is critical for creating healthy habits.
  • Self-care: Prioritizing your mental and physical health helps create the fulfilled, balanced life you deserve.

Balance of You Co. utilizes Ayurveda to form these lifestyle principles as it is one of the oldest spiritual bodies of knowledge. It uniquely promotes harmonizing the mind, body, and spirit to create a holistic equilibrium that keeps all parts of you in mind. For this reason, Ayurveda offers simple, yet effective insights on how modern lifestyles can be infused with the knowledge of ancient practices like meditation and yoga.

When applied to coaching, these pillars can help create a roadmap that is tailored to a client’s specific needs. Tessa utilizes this method as she begins working with new coaching clients. When they begin collaborating, she meets them where they are. Tessa focuses on the most significant struggles a client experiences and organizes the pillars in an order that is most logical based on the client’s circumstances. She frequently addresses nutritional and sleep imbalances first because they are the most fundamental pieces to a healthy and balanced life.

Balance of You Co.’s One-On-One Ayurveda coaching occurs in one hour and 15-minute sessions. Clients can book individual meetings at a time or purchase a special prepaid package of six sessions if they are committed to addressing each pillar. Balance of You Co. hosts coaching sessions online or in person depending on a client’s location. For each meeting, the team will provide supplemental resources relevant to the topic being discussed. These engaging worksheets and self-paced activities encourage clients to practice the habits they are currently learning in coaching.

Since Tessa provides customized guidance for each Ayurveda coaching session, every client’s concerns are adequately accommodated. She offers a free consultation to ensure that the energy between a client and instructor is aligned before asking for a financial investment. Only then can she dedicate her time and energy to deeply understanding what guidance a client needs.

Tessa shares her perspective on leading a balanced life with Balance of You Co.’s six pillars. “I try to teach clients that the six pillar system is fundamental wisdom within all of us,” she says. “Although many people feel unequipped to initiate a change in their lives, I help them realize that they already have the necessary resources. The only thing they need to do is make space for change in their lives by being open to new, healthier ways of doing things. It’s all about raising your awareness of what is or isn’t serving them, and deciding that you want to evolve your experience of life.
