Sangak Bakery & Cafe, which we spotted months ago in the heart of the Kosher Corridor, is set to open later this week. The Glatt Kosher restaurant will offer a full menu of kabobs, giving nearby Kabab Mahaleh (a neighborhood favorite known for its cheap and tasty eats) a run for its money. The cafe also will offer sandwiches, salad, soups (like the thick Iranian soup ash reshteh) and breakfast.

The restaurant takes its name from sangak, a sourdough flatbread that's the perfect accompaniment to a skewer of koobideh.
