An LA Weekly piece by our former Music Editor (and current LA Times Music Editor) Randall Roberts about LA band Ozomatli's tour of South East Asia has just been chosen as the best Arts feature of 2009 at the 2010 edition of the AltWeekly Awards.

Another LA Weekly piece, about the fascinating world of same-sex romance novels, by Gendy Alimurung, was the runner-up.

Congratulations to both writers on their deserved recognition. Make sure to revisit both examples of top-notch, well-reported arts journalism here and here.

Roberts' music reviews were also recognized, earning a kudos for articles

“The Day the Music Died,” “Katy Perry Unpeeled,” and “Bon Iver at Hollywood Forever Cemetery.”
