Hello Kitty is one busy lady, and her birthday on Thursday, Nov. 1, was no exception. At 44 years old, the iconic cat continues to be beloved by fans all over the world. In L.A. yesterday, she made a splash at two fabulous bashes to mark the occasion, both launching product collaborations. First up was a new clothing line with online retailer ModCloth at a pop-up inside the Sanrio store at the Japanese Village Plaza in Little Tokyo, which is open to the public through this Sunday. Later that evening, she changed from a black and red ensemble from the collection to a party-ready pink look for a music-filled fete featuring live performances by American Idol 2018 winner Maddi Poppe and former Fifth Harmony singer Ally Brooke, in celebration of her Proactiv x Hello Kitty cleansing brush kit (available at Ulta Beauty). Candy bento boxes, samples of another joint venture, Sanrio Loves Sugarfina, also were served. All photos courtesy Sanrio.
