Welcome to WonderCon 2025. The Anaheim cousin to the high-profile and fairly epic San Diego Comic-Con, this annual convention celebrates comic books, superhero and sci-fi films and TV shows, fantasy art, video games, and all things pop culture, but at a slightly less intensity than its San Diego counterpart.
Debuting in 1987 as the Wonderful World of Comics Convention, the event is beloved by fans big and small, especially those in the cosplay community, who gather on the steps near the entrance to showcase their talent and craftsmanship to thousands of visitors.
This year, despite a perfect storm of events hitting Anaheim — including a bustling weekend at the nearby Disneyland Resort, spring break crowds, and a handful of non-comic book, non-cosplay, and non-Disney happenings at adjacent hotels — WonderCon attendees powered through one obstacle after another to reach the hundreds of vendors, meet their heroes, score autographs, hunt for collectibles, and watch in slack-jawed awe as cosplayers dazzled with their creations.
