An evening with author Carla Malden as she discusses Shine Until Tomorrow

Author, lecturer, and film critic Stephen Farber joins Author Carla Malden to discuss her new book “Shine Until Tomorrow”.

Shine Until Tomorrow is a time-travel tale that takes its troubled teenage protagonist from present-day San Francisco back to the “Summer of Love” in 1967. A fun and touching novel about the people who raise us, the times that define us, and the stumbling blocks along the way, it tells the story of a girl obsessed with the future who must visit the past to learn to live in the present.

Raised in Los Angeles, Carla Malden began her career working in motion picture production and development before becoming a screenwriter. Along with her father, Academy Award–winning actor Karl Malden, she coauthored his critically acclaimed memoir, When Do I Start?

More recently, Malden published AfterImage: A Brokenhearted Memoir of A Charmed Life, a fiercely personal account of battling the before and surviving the after of losing her first husband to cancer.

Carla’s feature writing has appeared in the Los Angeles Times, highlighting the marvels and foibles of Southern California and Hollywood.

Carla turned to fiction with Search Heartache, followed by Shine Until Tomorrow — a novel for both Young Adults and Young-at-Heart Adults, available where books are sold. She lives in Los Angeles, California.
