Recently, I have been in the mood to change up my coffee order and what better place to do that than L.A.? Starbucks, of course, is an easy on-the-go coffee shop but there are so many great authentic shops in L.A. It is so fun to try new places and support small local businesses.

The first option is Alfred Coffee, which has amazing coffee and a very aesthetic atmosphere. There are a few different locations to choose from – in Studio City, on Sunset Blvd, Melrose, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Brentwood and more. Alfred’s Coffee has great cold brews, lattes, teas, cappuccinos, and even kombucha. They also have many croissants, muffins, cookies, scones, and other breakfast items to choose from. One of the locations, on Melrose Ave, is called Glossier Alley which is right next to the Glossier store so you can shop and have themed coffee right next door!

Philz Coffee is another great coffee shop that also has multiple locations throughout L.A. Philz has custom-blended coffees, teas, specialty drinks, and pastries. Philz has unique drinks that are so fun to try and see which is your favorite. There are locations everywhere and some nearby are in Studio City, on Sunset Blvd, in Santa Monica, and Beverly Hills.

Urth Caffe is also a very popular coffee shop that has amazing coffee as well as food. Urth cafe offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner and has some of the best-tasting coffee! Their most popular drinks are their matcha lattes and Spanish lattes. They also have great pastries, beautiful desserts, flatbreads, sandwiches, salads, and so much more. They are located on 5th St, Hewitt St, and also some in Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, and Santa Monica.

Lastly, Coffee Commissary has great coffee and a full menu of pastries, desserts, breakfast and lunch foods. Coffee Commissary is located on Fairfax Ave, Motor Ave, in Burbank, Glendale, and Santa Monica. This coffee shop has fun and vibrant decorations, great food and coffee, and a fun, hip atmosphere. It’s a great place to get coffee on the go or stay and do work. They have great lattes and cappuccinos and are known for their brisket breakfast burrito and chicken sandwiches.

These are just a few of the many coffee shops in L.A. Other recommended spots include Verve Coffee Roasters, Alchemist Coffee Project, Dinosaur Coffee, Stumptown Coffee Roasters, Eightfold Coffee, and Tilt Coffee Bar. Coffee is such a fun treat to get you through the day and it is so fun to try new places and see what your favorite is!
