We told you a few weeks ago about 1321, the taproom and restaurant with chef Greg Paul (formerly of The Oaks Gourmet Market) behind the stoves. Now, we have a few more details.

It's opening May 6th, or this Friday. The decor is the faddish rustic-yet-contemporary look i.e. exposed brick and modern booths. There will be more than 50 craft beers available (not sure how many will be on tap). The menu is stocked with smoked short ribs, flatbread, chile and garlic peanuts, ale-braised mussels and, naturally, a burger. Sure, the word “gastropub” has been tossed around an awful lot lately, thanks to a spate of recent openings (The Tripel, The Fat Dog, King's Row, City Tavern), but it seems 1321 is actually trying to earn the moniker.
