It’s Christmas in July for Comic-Con fans. An unrecognizable Johnny Depp surprised hundreds of fans on opening day of the San Diego festival in character as Ebenezer Scrooge. 

Depp e introduced the new trailer for his film Ebenezer, which opens in theaters on Friday, Nov. 13, and also emerged from the Comic-Con Ebenezer office activation to the giddy delight of fans.

“I can only say you’re all very, very strange people,” Depp growled at the crowd before heading back into his office covered in snow.  “Humbug!” 

Directed by  Ti West, the dark fantasy film based on the Charles Dickens classic also stars Rupert Grint, Andrea Riseborough, Sam Claflin, Daisy Ridley, Arthur Conti, Ellie Bamber, Henry Lloyd-Hughes, Charlie Murphy, with Tramell Tillman and Ian McKellen.
