26-Year-Old Woman Dies in Pedestrian Collision on Country Club Road
TUCSON, AZ (November 2, 2022) – Early Saturday morning, Zuralys Castro was killed in a pedestrian accident on East Transcon Way.
Officers were dispatched to scene near Country Club Way shortly after receiving multiple calls in the area.
According to reports, the driver of a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer struck a female pedestrian who was walking outside of a marked crosswalk in a dark area.
Despite life-saving efforts, medical personnel pronounced 26-year-old Castro dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Chevy remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Following preliminary investigations, officers determined that impairment did not play a factor in the crash.
No arrests have been made yet and the police have yet to determine the cause of the incident. Further investigations are underway.
